理由1图书馆可以让想要学习但是没有渠道或者没有能力购买昂贵书籍的人更容易地获取知识，而且很多大学有珍贵书籍以及限定版本。

理由2大学可以使用这些年费来翻新和整修图书馆来帮助到更多的人。

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
Young people today are less dependent on their parents than in the past.
 
这道独立写作考题问的是：“你是否同意? 与过去的年轻人相比，现在的年轻人更不依赖父母了。”  
 
从题型分类来看：这道题属于古今对比类，同学们可以在中间段展开时，多使用过去与现在的contrast对比论证方法。（在具体展开时，可以将过去与现在进行对比的信号词写出来，比如：Decades ago, … In contemporary society, …; In the past, … At present, …等等） 
 
从答题思路来看，同学们可以选择的展开方法很多，比如：直接分析所选观点的原因，或者从不同角度来分析所选观点为何成立。
 
我们以赞成方为例来看一下主要的中间段分论点思路参考:
Agree:
Topic Sentence 1.   Since the youngsters can obtain the abundant knowledge and information that they need from the Internet, they are much less dependent on their parents than before.
Topic Sentence 2.  Instead of relying on their parents, the adolescents are more independent nowadays, because schools’ education has put a lot of emphasis on developing students’ independent thinking.

这道独立题目从话题分类来看：属于社会类话题，所以有关政府投资等的词汇会被频繁用到；从题型分类来看：属于利弊类题型，所以同学们可以去思考赞成或反对方的优缺点。

美国一种甲虫的数量减少
阅读：提出三个原因
1. 农药
2. 生态环境破碎化
3. 食腐哺乳动物抢食物
 
听力反驳：
1. 杀虫剂比甲虫早引进。在一个地区，在农民使用杀虫剂之前，甲虫的数量减少了。在另一个地区，它们被使用了很多，但甲虫生活得很好。
2.  生活环境相似的昆虫不受影响。
3. 甲虫有敏锐的嗅觉，能很快在远处找到食物。找到食物后，会在食物上留下化学物质，干扰食腐动物的气味，所以其他动物不会威胁到它们。
