Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? All first-year college students should be required to take an English composition course.

improve essay writing skills / critical thinking skills
a huge difference from …
focus on grammar accuracy and literary analysis

add up to a burden
create resentment
fulfill the requirement

综合题
Task 2
Task 3
Task 4

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
Experts suggest that parents should limit the time to less than 1 hour that children spend on electronic devices, such as computers and cell phones, except for homework.
THESIS:
Parents should limit the screen time for young children to a maximum of one hour per day.
TOPIC SENTENCE 1:
Cutting kids' screen time may improve their health.
Children are
spending way too much time in front of screens, says the American Heart Association, and it's urging parents to drastically cut the hours their kids are allowed to use their phones, computers, tablets, and video games. Kids and teens age 8 to 18 spend an average of more than seven hours a day looking at screens. For younger children, age 2 to 5, the recommended limit is one hour per day. Research has linked screen time with
an increased amount of sedentary behavior in children and teens. While there is no long-term evidence yet to link screen time to an increased risk of health conditions like
cardiovascular disease and
high cholesterol, there is mounting evidence that it is associated with
obesity, cardiologist and CBS News medical contributor Dr. Tara Narula explains.
BY CBS NEWS- ASHLEY WELCH
TOPIC SENTENCE 2:
In addition, less access to technology saves young students more time for social interactions, helping them establish a rapport with people around them.
Recent studies from the American Association of Paediatrics revealed that: Toddlers who were exposed to more handheld screen time were more likely to
have delayed expressive language skills.
Communication is
a two-way street. Research shows that a child's brain develops rapidly in the early years. We also know that young children learn best from interacting with people and not screens. It is only through
real-life conversation, that children learn
the subtle rules of social conversation, like
making eye contact, using and understanding humor, introducing a new topic and knowing how to keep a conversation partner's attention.

(CN20190330) Some experts say that parents should limit their kids who are younger than 13 to less than 1 hour on their electronic devices. Do you agree or disagree with this statement?
(20201026 HOME) Because the use of technology such as computers in classrooms for young students (age 6-12) has led to many improvements in learning, some people believe that there should be no limits on the number of hours that young students spend using technology during school day. Others believe that too much time spent using technology during the school day is harmful for young students and that their use of technology should therefore be limited to one hour or less per day. Which view do you support and why?
Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. Be sure to use your own words. Do not use memorized examples.
(20201019 HOME) At some schools, some lessons for young students (age 5-8) include video games as a way to increase the students’ interest in learning. Some people believe this is a very effective way for young students to learn; others believe it is too distracting and wastes time. Which view do you agree with and why?
(20200921 HOME)Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
Children nowadays rely too much on technology, such as computers, smartphones, and video games, for fun and entertainment; playing with simpler toys or playing outside with friends would be better for children's development.
(20200913 HOME) A university has money in its budget to do ONE thing to improve its facilities for students: It can either improve the quality of the technology (for example, computers and printers) that it provides for students, or it can redesign spaces where students hold club meetings and gather with friends in their spare time to make these areas more comfortable and appearing.
